New Year's Eve Plans

Big plans for New Year's Eve? If you would have told me I would be headed to Africa to spend New Year's Eve in a dump in Ethiopia, I would have said you're crazy. Well, that's the plan on New Years Eve 2010. I along with 15 of my newest close friends will be ringing in 2011 in the village of Korah. Korah is a small village just outside Addis Ababa, the capitol city of Ethiopia. The village was founded over seventy-five years ago by people inflicted with leprosy, seeking treatment in Addis. Three generations later, over 100,000 people live in Korah, most of whom have leprosy, HIV/AIDS, are widows or orphans. Their extreme poverty has forced many of the villagers to forage through a local trash dump to find enough food to survive each day. The video below is short documentary about the Village Korah and is one of those things that causes me to say WOW.
